In the opening ceremony of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) - World Congress on Information and Libraries, and in the presence of 4000 librarians from all over the world, the Rector of Laval University presented Serageldin with the Honorary Doctorate bestowed to him by the prestigious University. The honourable acclaim being conferred to Serageldin in the attendance of his world peers imparted a highly touching significance to the splendid presentation ceremony. This is the 22nd honorary doctorate to be awarded to Serageldin.
The annual IFLA conference is the largest and most diverse international gathering of library and information science professionals in the world.
