Ismail Serageldin, selected by Aarhus University as the best lecturer in the world, delivered two lectures at the university today. He spoke in the morning on the Library of Alexandria and in the afternoon on the University of tomorrow. Both lectures were well attended and very well received. The title of the best lecturer in the world is awarded every year by the university to one person who is invited to deliver a lecture at the university. Previous lecturers include Nobel Laureate Robert Solow. Serageldin said he was privileged to have been so honored and was particularly touched by the manner in which the posters had referred to him as Ismail Serageldin of Alexandria, in which he heard an echo of the past directors of the Library of Alexandria.
