Ismail Serageldin delivered the key-note address at a commemorative conference that marked the 30th anniversary of the Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME). In his speech, Serageldin spoke about the changing world scene, the Arab world today, with special emphasis on Iraq and mapped out a comprehensive strategy for reform as well as Japan’s expected role during these critical times of transition and transformation. The conference gathered high government officials, business leaders and intellects from Japan. Serageldin and Dr. Adnan Eldin of OPEC were the only two Arab participants present at the occasion.
