Ismail Serageldin and forty-six founding members of the Science & Technology in Society Forum, convened together at the National Academy of Sciences, to exchange feedback on the outcome of the first forum which took place in November 2004, and to lay out the directions of the upcoming 2nd annual meeting of the STS forum scheduled to take place in Kyoto during the coming month of September. The founding members have now been joined by some new members into the council for the STS. Among the new members is Egypts Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Serageldin appreciatively acknowledged Japans initiative and the leadership of Mr. Koji Omi and the efforts of the secretariat for taking on this great task of gathering the worlds most influential people in business, political science and academia, as well as opinion leaders from around the world. “Click here to go to STS forum homepage”
