In a celebration marking the centenary of Dag Hammarskjld, Ismail Serageldin delivered a memorable speech commemorating the life and work of the late U.N. Secretary General. In his speech, titled "Paths to community - or parting of the ways", Serageldin spoke of Hammarskjld's milestones and achievements in the fields of international affairs and diplomacy and of his life-long commitment in quest for peace and goodwill among peoples and nations for which later earned him the Nobel Peace Prize posthumously in 1961. The celebration also heard H.E. Ambassador Stig Elvemar, Mr. Jan Henningsson and H.E. Ambassador Sayed Amin Shalaby. The event was organized jointly by the BA and the Swedish Institute in Alexandria.
