As co-chair of Nizami Ganjavi International Center (NGIC), Serageldin opened the three day Forum of Global Young Leaders held in Baku on 21-23 August. The forum was organized jointly by Azerbaijan State Committee for Work with the Diaspora and NGIC. In his address Serageldin stressed the importance of engaging young leaders in addressing problems facing humanity.
The unique forum brought together young emerging leaders to creatively engage and connect with former and present heads of state exploring the many dimensions of leadership.
In the opening session a panel of four former Heads of States explained their personal assessment of leadership exploring questions such as: What is leadership for me? How can one learn leadership? What did it take for me to become a world leader?
Following workshops posed questions such as: What kind of leadership is needed today? Do men and women lead differently? Do cultures lead differently?What is the inner and outer compass of leadership? Lively debates were held between the participants.
