In Latvia Serageldin had a meeting with President Raimonds Vejonis at the Riga castle. During his visit he also met with several former leaders of Latvia including former president Vaira Vike-Freiberga (1999 – 2007), former President Valdis Zatlers (2007 - 2011), and former Prime Minister, Laimdota Straujima, He visited the National Library of Latvia, gave a lecture at the University of Latvia, and was interviewed by the weekly magazine IR.
