The Committee on Human Gene Editing: Scientific, Medical and Ethical Considerations held its Consensus Study fourth meeting at the Keck Center of the National Academies of Sciences in Washington DC. Serageldin joined members of the committee in discussions on race and genetics in US history, and the intersection of moral views and public policy.
The Human Gene Editing Initiative was launched by The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) and the National Academy of Medicine's (NAM) to provide researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and societies around the world with a comprehensive understanding of human gene editing to help inform decision making about this research and its application.
