Under the auspices of H.E. Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif and in collaboration with the Alexandria Governorate, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) held a conference to present the projects submitted for the development of the Eastern Harbor and the area surrounding the BA. This event constitutes the first phase of the competition, which is concerned at this stage with the vision and architectural aspects. A jury will evaluate and select the projects that will enter into the final phase of the competition. In closing, Ismail Serageldin moderated a panel discussion about a vision for the future of Alexandria. Also, proposals for an archaeological underwater museum and an aquarium were presented as part of the overall development scheme.
