President Mubarak: The BA a Center for Dialogue Among Cultures and Civilizations

President Hosni Mubarak inaugurated the 16th General Meeting of The Academy of Sciences for the Developing World at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The Meeting brings together scientists and researchers from around the Arab World, Africa, Asia, and Latin America and their counterparts from developed industrial countries. In his speech, President Mubarak lauded the Academy for housing the TWAS Arab regional office within the BA, and said that the BA is a center for dialogue among cultures and civilizations and a symbol for the continuation of human heritage. Furthermore, President Mubarak emphasized the need to bridge the widening gap between the developed and developing worlds in areas of sciences, technologies and Information and Communication Technologies.
